Agent Requirements

Requirements for Each Managed Machine

• 333 MHz CPU or greater
• 128 MB of RAM
• 30 MB of free disk space
• Network Interface Card (NIC) or modem
• Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003, 2003 R2, Vista, 2008, 2008 R2, 7, 8, 2012
• Apple OS X version 10.3.9 or above
• For Live Connect (KLC):
  • Microsoft Windows XP or later
  • Apple OS X 10.5 Intel or later
• The Linux agent only supports Intel-based machines. SuSE Linux Enterprise (10 & 11), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (5 & 6), Ubuntu (10.04 LTS, 12.04 LTS, and the 2 most recent non-Long Term Support versions), OpenSuSE 12, and CentOS (5 & 6) are fully supported ⁽¹⁾. In addition, efforts will be made to resolve any issues reported for reasonably current Fedora, Debian, and other Linux Standard Base compliant systems ⁽²⁾.

¹ The Linux agent icon and agent menu are fully supported for GNOME 2 desktop logins. In addition, GNOME 3, KDE and Unity desktops will display windows requested from agent procedures. However, no icon, menu, or icon flashing is supported for these desktop types. There is a Gnome 3 Classic (also known as fallback) mode which emulates Gnome 2. This mode does show the agent icon. Linux distributions which have been fully supported in the past which have reached End-of-Life from their distributor are no longer supported. While existing agents should continue to work, new agent installations will not because the Linux agent installation requires packages from the Linux distribution which are no longer available to EOL'ed distributions.

² The Linux Standard Base is a group funded by the Linux Foundation (www.linuxfoundation.org) to manage compatibility between separate Linux distributions. While untested, the Linux agent will usually run on LSB compliant Linux distributions.

³ Agents connect to the Kaseya Server on port 5721. This port assignment may be changed by the administrator.
