Backup > Offsite Replication

Offsite replication provides protection in the event of a disaster and safeguards data in the event that something happens to the original backup. Offsite Replication is not required.

The offsite replication function transfers backup files to a remote FTP site.  Since the image files are compressed and password protected, the files are useless without the password and the software to access them.

The offsite storage location can be a SAN or NAS any other type of machine with sufficient storage capacity to house backup files for machine designated for offsite replication.

Set and Clear button

To setup offsite replication for a machine, enter the FTP site address, path and credentials needed to access the FTP site. Once the FTP location, credentials and transfer hours have been entered, click Set.

Enable offsite replication for Volume and Folder

Full volume backups can be very large and take significant bandwidth resources to send to a remote FTP site. To send smaller amounts of data to the FTP site, set this control to one of the following:

Restrict FTP traffic to only occur between the hours of

Since backup files can be very large, offsite replication lets you schedule these large FTP file transfers to occur after hours.  This allows for control over bandwidth usage so large file transfers do not interfere with bandwidth usage during business hours.  Change the time window without effecting the ftp site address or credential, by clicking the Apply button.

Test button

To ensure that the backup files will reach the offsite storage location, select the machine and click the test button.  The results will be returned once the test is complete.
