Disk Backups

Supports the latest disk hardware for improved backup reliability and bare metal recovery options.

Dynamic Disk to VM Conversions

Supports the conversion of dynamic disks to virtual machines. Removes the 950 GB resizing limitation for VMDK conversion.

Mounts GPT Disks

Supports the mounting of GPT(GUID Partition Table)-formatted disk backups, in the same way regular basic disks are mounted.

Copies Large Files

Supports the copying of large files when exploring a backup volume.

Backup Management Console

The Backup Management Console enables endpoint users to run backup, mounting and restore tasks independently of the VSA. The Install/Remove page includes two new options:

• Install Console Now - Installs the Backup Management Console on the selected machines immediately.
• Install Backup Management Console - If checked, includes the installation of the Backup Management Console on selected machines along with the installation of the Backup client.

Image Location

Applies to ABR11 Backup clients only. Optionally set a separate credential to access the UNC path specified on the Image Location page. This is only necessary if the image location is on a different domain than the agent credential used by the backup client.

Offsite Replication

Hotfixes for offsite replication implemented in Backup 4.0 have been incorporated into Backup 6.5. These include hotfixes for corrupted backup files and slight speed improvements.

Incremental Backup Sizes Minimized

This release includes improved backup logic to minimize ongoing incremental backup sizes.

Upgrading Backup Clients

Acronis 9.1 and 9.5 endpoints are not supported in Backup 6.5. Users are strongly recommended to uninstall Acronis version 9.1 or 9.5 and reinstall the new Acronis 11.x client.
