Network Discovery 1.2 is enabled for SaaS deployment.

Hotfix Update

The Network Discovery hotfix mechanism has been updated to hotfix in stages, stopping the related services, then updating the new files, then restarting the services.

Collector Update

Refresh has been added to the Collector Menu in the toolbar. Clicking Refresh stops the collector service, checks for any updated files, then restarts the collector service. This can help solve problems with a collector that is not functioning properly.

View Menu - toolbar

Changed the text for the menu to "right" and "bottom".

Main View Persistence

The main view page now stores the following settings for each administrator.

• View – right/bottom
• View – height and width
• Column Set selection
• Columns for that column set

Agent Quick View

Added Agent Quick View to status icon for all devices that have agents installed.

Ignore Device

A discovered device can now be ignored in the Ping Scan. Select the device and click Monitoring Menu > Ignore Device. This device will now be ignored from all Ping Scans.

Scan Now

Network Discovery deep scan runs every 2 hours for each device. A new item called Scan Now was added under the Monitoring Menu. This resets the last scan time and sets the device to be scanned in the next cycle. This shouldn’t be more than 5 minutes. This scan detects changes in the device such as SNMP turned on/off, new drives, open ports,...

SNMP Status

The SNMP status icon—disabled or enabled— only displays now for devices managed by collectors. The SNMP status icon does not display for agent-managed machines that are not yet managed by collectors.

Network Filter update

In v1.1 if the network to scan was updated it would need manual collector refresh to start scanning the new IP range. Now if the network is scanned, it is changed automatically and gets the new IP range on the next scan.

Machine Reconciliation

Reconciliation of managed agents and groups has been enhanced, allowing a more efficient process, consuming less resources.

Collector Status

To reduce the amount of data coming back to the server the Collector only sends the status back to the <VSA > if an administrator is viewing the collector in the browser.

Install

Installation of the collector has been enhanced to help choose the correct .Net framework components for Windows 2008 servers.
