Compatibility

Policy Management v1.1 requires VSA v6.3. If upgrading to VSA v6.3, and Policy Management is installed, you will be required to upgrade to Policy Management v1.1.

Edit Added to Grid-Based Policy Settings

An edit button has been added to all policy setting grids. This enables you to edit the existing configuration details for a policy setting, without removing the grid row, then re-adding it, just to see the configuration details.

Out of Compliance Tooltip

An out of compliance "reason" tooltip has been added to the Policy Matrix Detail window. The reason tooltip displays by hovering the cursor over a "red gear" out of compliance icon.

Global Org Assignment

You can now assign a policy to all organizations using the "Global Org" checkbox on the Organizations / Machine Groups page.

Machine Effective Policy Settings

Hovering the cursor over the Policy Matrix "gear" icon displays the Matrix Detail window. This window now has two tabs instead of showing just the policy object status details table only.

• Policy Object Status Details - Lists every policy and policy category applied to a selected machine.
• Machine Effective Policy Settings - Lists every policy and policy setting in effect for a selected machine. Since more than one policy can be applied to a machine, some applied settings may be ignored, based on policy assignment rules.

Scope Filtering

The organization tree that displays on the Organizations / Machine Groups page of the Policy Management module is now filtered by the user’s scope.

Share Rights

• Folders on the Policies page can now be shared using the Share button or by right-clicking the folders on the folder tree.
• A special Policy Management "Assign/Unassign" right displays when the Share dialog displays. You can assign this right to VSA users to enable them to assign policies within the shared folder to organizations and machines.

Function Access

The System > User Roles > Function Access tab now displays separate function access rights for each policy setting type and all child buttons within each policy setting object.

New Policy Settings

The following policy settings have been added to Policy Management:

• Data Backup (KDB) - assigns existing profiles
• Desktop Policy and Migration (KDPM) - assigns existing profiles and templates
• Event Log Settings
• Kaseya Anti-Malware (KAM) - assigns existing profiles
• Kaseya Antivirus (KAV) - assigns existing profiles
• Kaseya Security (KES) - assigns existing profiles
• LAN Cache - assigns an existing LAN Cache
• Suspend Alarm
• Update List by Scan (not yet implemented)

Remote Control

When a remote control session terminates, a session termination message displays. This now matches the functionality in the Remote Control module.

Application Log

The Logs page now shows entries for:

• Compliance Run
• Reprocess View Run

Reset and None Buttons

"Reset" and "None" buttons now display for the following scheduled policies. Previously only the "Reset" button displayed.

• Audit Schedule
• Patch Procedure Schedule

Button definitions:

• Reset - A schedule for this type of audit is not set for this policy. If this same type of audit has a schedule defined in a lower priority policy it is allowed to take effect.
• None - A schedule for this type of audit is not set for this policy. If this same type of audit has a schedule defined in a lower priority policy it is not allowed to take effect.

Bulk Removal of Policies

With this release, you can right-click a policy in the right-hand pane of the Organization / Machine Group page and click the "Unassign All" button to unassign the policy from all organizations and machines groups. The unassign all applies only to the scope you are authorized to see.

Credential Policy Options Added

The Credential policy setting now offers the following additional options when assigning the credential used by the agent to access network resources from a machine:

• Specify an existing local or domain user or administrator, or optionally specify a domain user or administrator for an assigned machine.
• Set or reset the password for that user or administrator.

These options are similar to the functionality described on the Remote Control > Reset Password page. When specified using this policy, they always set the credential displayed on the Agent > Set Credential page to the user/administrator you’ve added.
