Representing Users

Traverse enables administrators to log in as if they were the end user they are supporting. This is called representing an end user. An administrator who is representing an end user is logged into the end user's organization, with access to the organization's devices, tests, etc., while still retaining administrator privileges.

This is especially helpful when an end user has read-only capabilities and requests some type of organization modification. The administrator can log in as administrator, represent the end user, and make any needed additions or modifications to devices, tests, actions, user profile or password.

  1. Navigate to Superuser > Administration > Organization.
  2. Select an organization.
  3. Click the options Word 80% / HTML 100% icon.
  4. Click Manage Users.
  5. Select a user.
  6. Click the options Word 80% / HTML 100% icon.
  7. Click Represent User.
  1. Click Logout on the secondary navigation bar when you are finished.

Note: Do not use your browser's back button to return to the administrator interface. You must log out and log in again to re-initiate your administrator session.

User Representation

In traverse, as a super user you can switch on or switch off User Representation feature for all user groups : Users, Admins, Superuser because this feature invalidates the non repudiation control value of requiring authenticated access to individual user accounts. The Super User will retain the ability to enable it anytime. This will trigger entries within the application logging in to give visibility to any toggle actions that occur and would obviously allow the feature to revert back to its original, working form for both Super users and Admin.
