User - Access Tokens tab

The Access Tokens tab determines the access to specific VSA APIs. Tokens are used to access assigned scopes from external tools on behalf of user permissions. All actions on the Access Tokens tab log under System > Server Management > System Log.

Actions

• New - Create new user access token.
  • Token Information:
    • Token Name – Set the name of the token.
    • Expires after the date – Set the expiration date of the token. This is optional field.
  • Scopes assigned:
    • Data Warehouse API(read) – If checked, provides access to Data Warehouse API.
    • REST API (read, write) - If checked, provides access to REST API.
• Edit - Edits the selected token.
• Regenerate – Allows to generate a new token value for the selected token.
• Revoke – Revokes the selected token.

Once the token is Created, Edited, or Regenerated you can copy its value to the clipboard.

Table Columns

• Token Name – The name of the token.
• Scopes Assigned – Specifies the scope the token is assigned for.
• Registered By – The VSA user who registered the token.
• Registered On - The creation date of the token.
• Expires Date - Specifies the time period the token is expire.
• Status -
  • Active – The currently active token.
  • Inactive - The currently inactive token due to expiration date.

IP Whitelisting for Personal Access Tokens

The IP whitelisting capability is added to personal access token for enhancing API access security for VSA administrators. It allows authentication only from specified IP addresses or networks.

Each row must contain a single IPv4 address or subnet using valid CIDR notation.

• On saving the token with one or more whitelist entries, API will accept requests using that token from specified IP addresses and networks only. Any attempt to authenticate with the token from other networks will be refused with a standard “authentication failed” response.
• If the whitelist is empty, authentication will be accepted from any network that provides access to the VSA web interface.
