Basic Properties
Name - The username of the user. Cannot be changed once the user has been created. See Contact name below to enter real name information.
Password - Enter the password twice: once in the Password box, then again in the Verify password box.
Description - A generic description of the user. This field is not available from the Edit my settings page.
API Key - A numerical string, associated with the user record, used to authenticate logons by third party utilities connecting to the Network Monitor server. A new, randomly-generated string can be generated by clicking the New button. The API key is used by the Gizmo and ODBC driver utilities.
User group - Add the user to a user group.
Note: Users not belonging to any user group cannot logon to the user interface. They can only receive alarm notifications and reports.
Contact information
Email - Email alerts for this user are sent to these email addresses. Delimit multiple email addresses with a comma.
SMS number - SMS alerts for this user are sent to this SMS phone number.
Contact name - The real name of the user. This information can be embedded into alert messages.
Contact phone - The contact phone number of the user. This information can be embedded into alert messages.
Contact cellphone - The contact cellphone number of the user. This information can be embedded into alert messages.
Contact address 1 - The contact address of the user. This information can be embedded into alert messages.
Contact address 2 - The contact address of the user. This information can be embedded into alert messages.
Additional - Additional information about the user. This field is not available from the Edit my settings page.
Interface options
Email format - The format of outgoing emails to this user: Plain Text, HTML, HTML (Outlook 2007 compatibility). Outlook 2007 uses the Word HTML rendering engine, which requires special formatting to be displayed correctly. To received emailed reports, Plain Text cannot be used.
Refresh - This specifies the refresh time in seconds for various pages in the management interface.
View report - Open reports in same window or Open reports in a new window.
Report style - When reports are viewed in the management interface, or scheduled to be sent automatically, the reports use a specific style in regards to color, fonts etc. The style is specified per report, but this setting allows Network Monitor to force another report style to be used instead, when viewing or sending reports to this user.
Navigation pane - If checked, displays the navigation pane. If blank, hides the navigation pane.
Follow current node - If checked, all other open nodes close when a node is selected. If unchecked, all other open nodes remain open when a node is selected.
