Kaseya Online Backup

This is the first release of the Kaseya Online Backup (KOB) add-on module. The Online Backup module backs up selected files and folders to the cloud. Enables MSPs to provide cost-effective subscription-based backup services immediately, without requiring end-customers or MSPs to purchase and manage their own data backup solutions.

Supported Kaseya Configurations

Kaseya 2, SaaS, Windows and OS/X (Leopard and Snow Leopard).

Status

Provides a dashboard view of all backups on all machines using Online Backup.

• In process, Complete, Complete with Exceptions, Skipped, Unscheduled
• Next scheduled backup
• Estimated time to completion for backup in progress
• Backup results within last <time> period

Schedule

Schedules online backups of selected files and folders on selected machines.

• Includes "Backup Now" and recurring schedules of backups.
• Each machine's assigned "backup profile" provides a default configuration of files and folders to be backed up, along with specifying other backup options.
• A "File Selection" feature provides a window into a managed machine's disk drives, enabling you to manually select additional files and folders requiring backup.
• Supports incremental backups, reducing network traffic

Logs

Shows the recent history of online backups for a selected machine.

• Columns include: Type, Start Time, Duration, Result, Exception Count.
• Complete, Completed with Exceptions, and Skipped backups are indicated. Skipped backups include text describing the reason for skipping the backups.

Restore

Restores backups for a selected machine. Options include:

• Individual file restore selection.
• Restore to same or different machine if offline.
• Restore to same location or different location.
• Rename or overwrite on restore.

Manage

Enables deletion of folders and files from an online backup for a selected machine ID.

Summary

Displays storage statistics for each machine ID using online backup.

Install/Remove

Enables or removes Online Backup for selected machines IDs.

Alerts

Generates online backup alerts that are integrated with alert summary functions in Monitoring, Alert Log and Alert Log reporting. Types of alerts include:

• Backup status: Complete, Completed with Exceptions, Skipped
• Alerts based on storage limits or thresholds

Backup Profiles

Backup configuration profiles are provided. Each backup profile represents a different set of enabled or disabled backup options, including file types and file locations to be backed up. Include and exclude rules can be defined by file type and file locations. Changes to a backup profile affect all machine IDs assigned that backup profile. Typically different types of machines require different backup profiles. Sample profiles are provided for you. You can't change a sample profile, but you can save it under a new name and make changes to the copy. Backup profile options include bandwidth throttling.
