VSA (v6.5.0.0) - 31 January 2014

 

On Premises and SaaS Enhancements

Agent

  • A new /v agent install switch has been added. The /v switch associates an agent with an existing agent account in the VSA when the machine name, agent name and organization are the same for the same partition. Ignores creating a new agent account when a new MAC address is detected. Suitable for re-using existing agent accounts created for reverted VDI resources, but will also work with physical machines.
  • Added a new VDI column to the the Agent > Agent Status page. The column shows a green check box if the /v agent install switch is used to install an agent to an existing agent account, as described above.
  • The VSA version number and agent version number has been upgraded to a minimum of 6.5.0.0
  • Created a catalog-based DLL driver for handling OEM services.
  • Windows Server 2000 is no longer supported by the Kaseya agent. Agents installed on existing Windows Server 2000 machines cannot be upgraded to agent version 6.5.

Apple Agents

  • Support for OS X 10.9 Mavericks has been added to the Kaseya agent.
  • The Mac agent installer now signs using an Apple Developer ID certificate

Agent Procedures

  • Windows 8.1 & 2012 R2 are now supported in steps of the Agent Procedure Editor.

Live Connect

 

  • Live Connect > Desktop Access > VNC now supports keystroke mappings created using SHIFT+OPTION keystroke combinations.
  • Live Connect now supports IE11.
  • Live Connect now supports Mac 10.9 Mavericks endpoints.

Remote Control

  • Windows 8.1 & 2012 R2 are now supported in Remote Control.

Upgrading from 6.3

Only upgrades from VSA version 6.3 to version 6.5 are supported.

  • Upgrade a VSA version 6.2 to version 6.3, before upgrading to version 6.5.
  • To upgrade from VSA version 6.1 or earlier, please contact support for assistance.

 

On Premises and SaaS Bug Fixes

Kserver/Agent

 

  • LUA.exe processes now terminate on agent machines correctly.
  • Agent installers are now signed with Kaseya certificates.
  • The VSA now correctly identifies Windows 8.1 & 2012 R2 agent machines.
  • The Agent > Protection > Application Blocker no longer blocks selected applications unexpectedly.
  • Added a parameter to ensure the client-side Lua scheduler executes Lua scripts in a timely manner.
  • Upgraded a driver that was preventing an agent process from shutting threads down.

Agent - Agent Update

  • The version number was removed from the tooltip displayed by the Download Live Connect Plugin Install link and icon on the Agent > Update Agent page.

Kserver/Agent - Security Vulnerability

 

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Kserver/Agent - Documentation

  • Draft documentation was created for the Command, Supported Products and Message Type JSON Catalogs
  • Updated documentation to say you must click the monitor wizard on the Agent Logs page instead of hovering over it.
  • Added a note to the documentation explaining the rationale for specifying primary/secondary servers on the Agent > Configure Agents > Check-in Control page.
  • Added a description for the "Info" icon that can display in Agent Event Logs.

Agent Plugins

  • Performance issues related to running Lua.exe multiple times were corrected.

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Agent Procedures

 

  • The Agent Procedure Status page no longer shows scheduled agent procedures that have been deleted.
  • The agent procedure Export Folder button displays consistently now for a shared folder, provided the appropriate user and role permissions are being used.
  • Agent procedures xmls are now fully and correctly imported into the agent procedure folder tree.
  • The Agent Procedures editor allows ..\ and ../ in writeFile() step.
  • You can no longer overwrite an agent procedure that you only have the right to view.

Agent Procedures - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Live Connect

  • Corrected issues with the desktop thumbnail feature in Live Connect.
  • Live Connect has been updated to support Windows 8 and 8.1.

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Notification Bar

  • Fixed a Notification Bar issue causing a large number of deadlocks.
  • Updated the text displayed in the KServer Down message in the Notification Bar.

System

  • Fixed a bug preventing licenses to be allocated by organization and machine group on the System > License Manager > License By Group tab
  • Fixed a License Manager error generated when accessing the License By Group tab.
  • Fixed a hidden link just to the right of 'KServer Version' text on the System > Configure page.
  • Removed an outdated harvest licensing data schedule that was causing errors.
  • The copyright on the logon page was updated.

System - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Audit

 

  • When a custom field is deleted, filter criteria for any remaining custom fields in agent views now display correctly.
  • Clicking the Patch Approval link on the Machine Summary > Patch Status page, then clicking the back browser button, now returns you correctly to the Patch Status tab.
  • The Audit > View Individual Data > System Information > Dell System Serial Number link now displays the correct Dell warranty page.

Audit - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Monitor

  • Corrected a javascript runtime error in the monitor set status dashlet.

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

Ticketing

 

  • Firefox display issues associated with Ticketing module tickets in Live Connect were corrected.
  • The value shown in the Ticketing > Migrate Tickets page forward/page back field no longer remains frozen on 0 or remains blank when a new ticket is created by an agent.
  • This bug fix resolves a note formatting issue in the Ticketing module associated with tickets created from emails.
  • A Web API for ticketing (GetNotesLast) no longer times out.
  • Corrected a deadlock issue when processing Ticketing email alerts.
  • Corrected a SQL deadlock issue when using the Ticketing > View Summary page.
  • The Creation Date and Due Date columns in the Ticketing > Manage Tickets > Migrate Tickets page have been resized to fit the data.

Ticketing - Documentation

 

  • Option names in Ticketing - Configure Ticketing - Access Policy documentation were updated to match the UI.
  • The Ticketing > Email Mapping documentation was updated with a minor correction.

Info Center

 

  • You can no longer move or delete a top level folder in the Info Center > Report Templates page.
  • Creating a new cover page using the Info Center > Cover Page, Header, Footer page no longer allows a blank name.
  • Corrected a Cover Page / Header / Footer selection issue when editing a report.
  • You can no longer delete a top level folder in the Info Center > Name Value Parts folder tree.
  • An Info Center > Report Parts exception was fixed.
  • A warning was added to the Info Center > Reports Template page when moving a duplicate template into a folder.
  • The Info Center > Reports > Schedule Item History now displays message text created for published reports.
  • An Info Center > Name Value Parts exception was fixed.
  • Removed a misleading "Close without saving" confirmation message when closing a view in Info Center > Name Value Parts
  • An Info Center > Report Templates > Preview Template exception was fixed.
  • Info Center reports using custom footers with only 1 item now display correctly.
  • You are now able to update the description of parameters in newly created Name Value Parts.
  • The default paper size is now applied to new reports.
  • Aggregate options in bar charts that are unusable with datetime fields are no longer selectable when a datetime field type is selected.
  • When publishing reports and setting the default distribution to send to email, drag-and-dropping users to the distribution list now checks the send to email checkbox as expected.
  • Corrected an issue that could cause duplicate footers to display when adding or editing footers on the Covers, Headers, Footers page.
  • A published template is now assigned the category of its top-level parent folder, no matter how many nested folders deep it is.
  • Removed a misleading "Close without saving" confirmation message when closing the "Create New Data Set" window.
  • Rescheduling a report no longer removes the list of recipients set to be distributed the report.
  • Editing a report set no longer causes the existing list of selected reports to be removed.
  • Clicking the Info Center > Scheduling > New option no longer displays a blank New Schedule dialog.
  • Report Templates now prevent the selection of multiple contexts.
  • It is now possible to order the display of parameters created for Info Center > Name Value Parts.
  • Cover, Header, Footer records can now be copied.
  • Report Parts can now be copied.
  • Name Value parts captions and values can now be aligned.
  • Table view column alignments within Report Parts can now be set.
  • Name Value Parts can now make use of the organization context.
  • Name Value Parts can now make use of the staff context.
  • The Info Center > Schedule > History tooltip text was cleaned up.
  • The Info Center > Name Value Parts > Create New Data Set dialog received some minor cleanup fixes.
  • The Report Set "assign" dialog errors on save if no reports are selected.
  • Corrected filtering issues related to the Report Part tree.
  • The partition ID was added to the index of the ReportCenter.DataSet table.
  • The Operating Systems section of the Info Center > View Dashboard page was updated to support Windows 2012.
  • Corrected an error in Report Parts causing the table parts Columns list to lose items in the list after scrolling down the list and then back up again.

Info Center - Documentation

  • Documentation for contexts were added to the Info Center > Name Value Parts page to match the user interface.

VSA Pres

  • Fixed a "Selection Context Not Found" error when clicking too quickly between sub menus within a module.
  • Using the Info Center > Reports Parts folder tree filter no longer causes duplicate folders to display.
  • Updated text on the the Insert Emotions dialog, which supports various email windows throughout the VSA.
  • The Service Desk > Templates > Desk Templates page no longer displays a "No Records Selected" blank page.
  • Disabled chained combo boxes no longer allow you to click the arrow and get a list of values
  • List boxes are no longer missing scrollbars.
  • Saving a new document using the Service Billing > Documents > New dialog no longer generates a date exception.
  • Corrected a display error that occurred after clicking the Default button on the System > Preferences page.
  • Corrected a display error that occurred when losing focus of the Preferred Method of Contact field in the System > Orgs/Groups/Depts/Staff - Manage page.
  • Corrected an issue that prevented all notes from being displayed in a Service Desk ticket.
  • Added an index to prevent locking and blocking on the appsession delete trigger for improved stability.
  • Twenty localization strings were fixed in the Japanese language pack.
  • Service Desk email notifications no longer generates extra line breaks in outbound emails.
  • You can now set the default value of permissions not shown in VSA dialogs
  • Dashboard titles are now being rendered correctly.
  • Pie chart slices no longer render empty labels.
  • Selection only screens now render correctly when debug=true
  • For Service Desk tickets using the Fixed Width Tabbed and Fixed Width No Tabs templates, an unnecessary confirmation dialog was removed that displayed when canceling out of a ticket. This confirmation dialog no longer displays when the Service Desk > Desk Definition > Auto Save Clock checkbox is unchecked.
  • The Creation Date filter on the Ticketing > Migrate Tickets page was fixed.
  • Issues associated with moving policy folders in Policy Management have been corrected.
  • Double quotes in non-English languages no longer prevent logging on to the VSA.
  • Paged grids that have a change to page > 1 no longer return to page 1 even though the grid says it is on page 2
  • Removed some default data that was incorrectly populating the Service Billing > Operations > Customers record before it was saved the first time.
  • Added error trapping to ensure upgraded context screens don't display an exception after editing a grid row.
  • Added code to ensure that appframework context screens refresh after a dialog.
  • Corrected an issue causing IE11 to trigger the browser compatibility popup.

App Foundation

 

  • The Summary > Dashboard > Deployments Last 24 Hours - items no longer expand past their boundaries.
  • Corrected the display of exception messages that can occur when the Service Billing - Status page is clicked.
  • Corrected KLC issues caused by a slow "run procedures" query.
  • Added a size limit to the Logging.Syslog table that has caused stability and performance problems on customer systems.
  • Limited the affect of changes to Audit Schedules in a policy that were generating very large numbers of transactions causing server stability issues on high volume Kaseya Servers.
  • Removed some extraneous text and an unneeded Click Me button on the Audit > Configure Column Sets page.
  • Fixed an issue preventing child objects from being populated and screens loading without data.
  • Corrected a load type error after removing a reference to a legacy HermesRuntime term.
  • The log written to by Administrator Logging in Software Deployment is now restarted every day to ensure timeout errors don't occur.

App Foundation - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

On-Premises Logon - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

K-Install

  • Corrected a formatting error that prevented logons when the language preference was set to Portuguese.

 

SAAS Bugs Fixed

Agent Procedures

  • In SaaS an imported agent procedure folder can now be shared.

Info Center - Report Parts

  • Applies to SaaS only. Fixed an issue that caused report parts that were included in executive summary reports to be reset to their defaults.

Remote Control

  • n SaaS, user roles now correctly display on the Remote Control > User Role Policy page.

VSA Pres

  • Applies to SaaS only. Corrects a performance issue that can occur when a large number of SaaS users are logged on concurrently.

App Foundation

  • Applies primarily to SaaS. Added a query to prevent deadlock issues on high volume Kaseya Servers.
  • [APPINF-181] - Applies to SaaS. Corrected a race condition that occurs with Wake On LAN.

Cloud Management Console

 

  • The Add License Blacklist no longer throws an exception.
  • An exception no longer occurs when attempting to add a license to the blacklist.
  • The KPLS > Customer > License > AddLicense dialog no longer throws an exception.
  • Improved processing for failed account processing.
  • Fixed a query that improves the accuracy of tenant licenses in multitenant.

Cloud Management Console - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

portal.kaseya.net

  • Made changes to the fields shown on the Kaseya Portal > Credit Card and Account Billing pages.
  • KCP installer now creates a SaaSAdmin user.
  • Removed the new Ticket button for legacy SD tickets in the Customer Portal. Added a new link to the Kaseya Zendesk.

portal.kaseya.net - Security Vulnerability

  • A possible security vulnerability has been removed.

SaaS Customer Portal

 

  • SaaSCheckout was added to install to avoid adding it manually to the IIS Application.
  • Corrected a display error on the Kaseya Portal > Online Backup > Web Description page
  • A popup window error for the Kaseya Portal > Online Backup > CALL Now button was fixed.
  • Added validation preventing a save when using the Kaseya Portal > My Account > Account Information - Cancel subscription dialog, when the "I understand…" checkbox is unchecked.

SaaS Customer Portal - Security Vulnerability
