Primary New Features
Kaseya Remote Control
Kaseya Remote Control is the primary remote control capability used throughout the Virtual System Administrator (VSA). Kaseya Remote Control connects in seconds to remote machines that already have Kaseya Remote Control installed. Kaseya Remote Control maintains a reliable, secure and encrypted connection. Kaseya Remote Control is installed as a viewer/server pair of applications: the viewer on the administrator's local machine and the server on the remote agent machine. The Kaseya Remote Control server is installed as a component of the agent when a new agent is installed, or when the agent is updated using Agent > Update Agent. Click any agent icon that supports Kaseya Remote Control to automatically start or re-start it. If the Kaseya Remote Control application is not already installed on your local administrator machine, a dialog prompts you to download and install it. There is no independent launching of the Kaseya Remote Control application outside of the VSA.
See Kaseya Remote Control for more information. |
Dashboard Management
A new Info Center > Management Dashboard page shows the current status of all agent machines a VSA user is authorized to see. The dashboard comprises a set of dashlets, with each dashlet displaying a unique metric. All agent dashlets provide drill down capability to show the list of individual machines in that dashlet. Dashlets obey scope and machineID/groupID filtering. Dashlets displayed on this page include:
Agent Procedures
As a security precaution, agent procedures are now required to be signed and approved. A new Pending Approvals page approves signed agent procedures, enabling them to be run using the Schedule / Create page, or selected and run elsewhere throughout the VSA.
File Upload Whitelist
A new File Upload Whitelist tab has been added to the System > Default Settings page. The File Upload Whitelist tab controls the types of files that can be uploaded to the various rich text editors used throughout the VSA framework. |

Service Billing / Quick Books Integration
Service Billing 6.5 integration has been updated to work with a new protocol required by QuickBooks Online Edition accounts. Quickbooks Online Edition will no longer accept the old protocol as of May 15, 2014. See Integrating Quickbooks Online for details. Note: Integrating Quickbooks Desktop has not been changed. |
Mobile App Management
Mobile Device Management can now require or disallow apps on mobile devices. App profiles determine which apps are required to be installed or disallowed from being installed on mobile devices. Each app profile represents a different set of apps. All apps belonging to the same app profile are either all required or all disallowed. You can assign multiple app profiles to a single mobile device. Changes to an app profile affect all devices assigned that app profile. Supports the management of apps downloaded from app stores as well as proprietary 'enterprise apps'. See Managing Apps on Devices for details. |
Network Monitor
Network Monitor 7.0 has been added as an integrated VSA module. Network Monitor uses the VSA > Discovery module to scan networks. Gateways are installed on remote networks using agent machines. As an integrated module, Network Monitor can now optionally trigger the creation of Service Desk tickets based on specified alarm counts. Access to Network Monitor now makes use of standard VSA authentication, user roles and user scopes. Network Monitor licensing is handled by the VSA > License Manager. An agent license is consumed for each non-agent asset—machine or device—monitored using Network Monitor. A machine or mobile device that already has an agent installed on it does not consume an additional agent license when monitored by Network Monitor. One agent license is consumed for an asset regardless of the number of monitors on that asset. See VSA Integration for details. |
vPro
vPro functionality has been moved from the Desktop Management module into a separate vPro module. |
Installation/Upgrade - Application Firewall
Microsoft IIS will automatically be configured for security to operate with the Kaseya Application Firewall.

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Port Change Required
Installation/Upgrade – Port Check |
A new System Check test called Port Check tests whether any other applications are using your port 80 or port 443 on the IIS server hosting your Kaseya Server. If any applications are detected, the installation is not allowed to continue until these other applications are disabled. |
Installation/Upgrade – SSL Certificate |
