The Secure Browser container app allows mobile device users to access web-based content published by the BYOD gateway. Access is managed using two types of links.
Proxied
The Secure Browser container app uses a proxied link to access resources within the company network. A request for a resource is proxied through the BYOD gateway.
The BYOD gateway provides an Intranet Tunneling service that acts as an intermediary for requests from the container app to intranet sites or services. A proxied link is added using the BYOD gateway > Sites > Intranet Tunnel access to company Web resources menu option. When added, a proxied host is also added to the proxy list policy, which is maintained on the BYOD gateway > Control Panel - Policies tab.
Non-Proxied
A Secure Browser container app uses a non-proxied link to access a resource directly, instead of using the BYOD gateway as an intermediary. This is commonly used to access publicly available resources not hosted behind the company firewall. Content is still encrypted within the Secure Browser container app on the device and securely isolated from the rest of the device. A non-proxied link is added using the BYOD gateway > Sites > Non-proxied link to an external Web site menu option.
